SUMMARY:Self Defense Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Shoshin Karate is holding a hands-on self-defense workshop on October 24th from 10AM to 12PM.  This session\, led by the Owner/Instructors of Shoshin Karate\, will focus on basic self-defense tips and techniques.   In this interactive environment\, you will work with different partners to develop an understanding of how to apply the techniques to individuals of different size and stature. \nIn this session we will focus on 3 key stages of escalating aggression: \n\nMaintaining awareness of your surroundings\nUsing your VOICE as a deterrent to violence\nDisabling and escaping an aggressor\n\nWear comfortable/athletic clothing and bring a water bottle for hydration.  There will be a 10-minute break during the middle of the session. \nEveryone ages 13 and up are welcome to attend the workshop; no martial arts experience is required.  Attendance is limited to 40 people\, and you must register prior to the event.  No tickets will be sold at the door the day of the event.  Liability waiver is required; doors open at 9:30AM. \n
